- New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation (NJCCF) strives to enhance the employment preparation of job candidates with disabilities. Programs, conferences and services that address disability inclusion are varied and have been guided by New Jersey’s business community.
- promotes best employment practice,
- increases employer access to skilled candidates with disabilities, and
- builds the pipeline of qualified people with disabilities by working with students (age 16-24) across the state.
- Bridging the Gap from College to Careers:This program, being implemented in California and Florida institutes of higher education, combines online curriculum with a program that connects college students to peer and career mentors and a placement team to assist students with local internships and other work-based learning experiences unique to the business community.
- College and Career Ready Academy:Students with mobility disabilities are immersed in business simulation games and compete in teams. Students learn what they need to do to prepare for college and/or work.
- Beyond Accommodation:Creative Strategies for Section 503 Compliance: A conference held for businesses with federal contracts of $10K or more, and community partners interested in disability employment. This event provided a unique networking opportunity for business representatives, educators and disability service providers to find mutually beneficial strategies to address outreach and compliance requirements under the federal regulations.
- SKILLSFirst:A one-day conference held for service providers and business leaders to facilitate networking opportunities, help students/clients secure jobs that fit their skills, share information that helps service providers modify client/student skills to fit available jobs.
- The Disability Supplier Diversity Program (DSDP):This USBLN program offers New Jersey businesses that are 51% or more owned and operated by an individual(s) with a disability, including service-disabled veterans, an opportunity to increase their exposure to potential contracting opportunities with major corporations, government agencies and other disabled–owned businesses. Through the USBLN DSDP, your business can obtain a Disability-Owned Business Certificate and get connected to a nationwide network of corporate and government procurement specialists seeking to diversify their supplier chains.
